Servant’s New Book: Grants for Christian Ministries and More

Servant’s new book, edited by Bill High, is Grants For Christian Ministries and More. This is a collaborative work  designed to help your ministry or church improve your grant-writing process.  We recruited some of the best grantwriting professionals each to contribute a chapter. The idea behind this collaboration is that you will receive different views on various topics; it’s not just one author and his ideas on the subject. All chapters are designed to help your ministry advance to the next level in your funding.

Introducing the 2010 Passion Awards!

We are pleased to announce the release of the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the 2010 Passion Awards. The Passion Awards seek to identify and support effective, excellent ministries committed to advancing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The theme for this year’s awards and proposal process is Be Still and KNOW. We feel that it is a theme that is not only relevant to our times but a great reminder that when we are still before God, we can be unflinching in our faith because of who He is. He will be exalted! Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. Ps 46:10.

Beginning Thursday, April 1, ministries will be able to apply for the 2010 Passion Awards at www.servantchristian.com. Organizations will have until Monday, June 28th to submit an application. The application process is completely online. Preview the RFP (PDF).

We look forward to honoring the Passion Award ministry recipients at the 9th annual Thurman Mitchell Servant Leadership Celebration on Monday, November 1, 2010. Mark your calendars and plan to join us in celebrating the work of God!

Haiti: An Outpouring of Generosity

God’s people are responding! Through our national affiliate, we have seen nearly $2 million granted out to organizations responding to the crisis in Haiti. We are encouraged by the number of on-the-ground organizations that are responding to the need in Jesus’ name. A sampling of those organizations include:

This is only a sampling of the organizations with which we are and will be engaged. SCCF and our national affiliate, NCF is blessed to have relationships with many donors and ministries.

This will not be a problem that will be solved in a matter of weeks or months…the body of Christ will need to be involved for quite some time. We do have hope for those in Haiti, and we know that this environment, though very sad and difficult, presents an opportunity for God to draw many to himself.

2009 in Review: Great Things He Has Done

One of the things we like to do at Servant is celebrate. In particular, we want to be about celebrating the work of God and giving Him all the Glory! So, we celebrate over $60,000,000 in grants in 2009. You heard it correctly, $60,000,000 was distributed for Kingdom purposes in one short year from Servant Giving Funds.

Over 1,000 charities were impacted through these grants. Additionally we saw over $400,000 granted to Helping Hands for needy individuals.

2009 also represented a record year for contributions into individual Servant Funds. Over $82,000,000 was contributed to Servant Funds which represents a 41% increase from 2008. We saw a 155% increase in online giving to Servant funds this year. And, members are using their fund more frequently. Members who gave to their fund more than 10 times was up 62%. In a time of great economic challenge it is exciting to see a movement of generosity in the Christian community!

Only God. Only God can do such great things! We are thrilled to have the privilege to serve givers committed to releasing resources for the purpose of building God’s Kingdom. Thank you for being part of a Culture of Generosity!
