You may have heard of state charitable solicitation laws that require charities to register and provide certain financial information before accepting donations in that state. But did you realize that states are actually enforcing these rules? Partly prompted by the need for more revenue, states are cracking down on charity scofflaws. Oklahoma and Washington recently amended their laws to provide greater enforcement and accountability for charities.
